Inspire me
A lot of people know that I am deeply in love with makeup. Not just simply putting it on but creating art on a plain canvas (or a beautiful girl's face). Here are some pictures that I will recreate in photoshoots coming up!

Reason
Sometimes when the light in my life goes dark it's very hard to cope with. Right now things have been hard and people aren't always the nicest but thinking about it now, I know god has made me go through it so someone else wouldn't have to. I would rather go through the pain than see someone else. It makes me feel a little better.

Senior pics... whaaaa?!
Senior pictures are due in two days and of course... I forgot haha... Everyone is telling me to just use one of my modeling pictures but thats no fun :(
oh well -no choice now. I'm going to use this one. It was taken last year by Stephanie Reeder Photography at a vineyard shoot and my family loves it, plus it looks like a senior pic!

Mean Girls
Ironically, 'Mean Girls' is my favorite movie- hands down. BUT there isnt a thing I hate more than actual mean girls or just mean people in general. Recently a girl got into a fight with me over something so pety, and now when I talk to her it takes all of my energy to not snap back. People know me for being really nice all the time but I feel like when I'm ever in an arguement or a fight they take that as a a sign of weakness. It's not that im weak or have fear it's just that I strongly believe in being nice to people even when they've been cold to you. I think that takes more courage and only strong people can actually be able to do this. However, its hard... when people make you cry its only a natural reaction to say something back to defend youself but thats not always right. After hearing more malicious things from this girl I decided to take some advice from one of my bestfriends. She told me......
And she was exactly right. Life is way too short. Dont waste your time criticizing someone or trying to drag someone down because even if you hate the person you will always be the bigger person when you give them a smile and move on. Then they'll feel like a complete moron.

If I was Rich Girl
In the words of Gwen Stephani, "If I was a rich girl... I'd have all the money in the world" but sadly, I'm not like Gwen and don't have all the money in the world. So whose to say I'm not trying? It all started in class when I was asked about the jobs I was working. For a 17 year old- come this winter- I will be working three jobs + school. "Ridiculous" is what I was told it was, and ridiculous indeed. But what shocked me was the negative responses I got from this. Instead of an encouraging reaction, I simply got a shake of the head and a "what do you even need money for?". All I could do was stare blankly at their snobby faces. I find it sad that these classmates (a year older than me!) were talking like this. They came from a wealthy background- so I got the part where they didn't NEED money necessarily, but wealthy or not... being a hard worker is the most admirable trait a person can have. Regardless... I do, however, need money and if basic instinct has me focused on working like a maniac to get it; so be it. In today's economy, people are losing their jobs and wealthy incomes when they least expect it. A friend of mine lost his job of 8 years, a UVA college graduate is jobless as of right now living with his parents, multi-millionaires are even living pay check by pay check. Its reality. I'm proud of myself for being driven but we live in a society where being independent is rare for the younger generation. People need to succumb to the realization EVERYONE lives differently. I pay for half the rent in my home, car insurance, phone, etc and I know plenty of other kids my age who do the same if not more! So let the snobs be snobs because later on in life they'll be maniacs too ;)

LAST first day of Highschool

The bittersweet moment had come where I put on my NineWest pumps, black skinny jeans, retro white tank with a metal necklace, and walk down the halls of Monticello High School for the LAST first day of school. This morning as I woke up I truely did NOT want to go. I pleaded and begged (even suggested online classes) but I was forced to go. My wonderful boyfriend drove me and gave me a kiss good bye as I saw all the new freshman step off the buses and same familiar faces join their cliques. The day went by ok but I already have homework :( bummer... at least we can use our cellphones at school (thank god). Each year I always take a picture of me for the first day of school but this year I forgot, so here's my picture of me now. Note: I have NO makeup on and I look rough but I'm cheesin with my AP Gov. homework. Did I mention I did ALL of my summer reading today?! Yeah, pretty gnarly
ps: Math class sucks

My summer wish

School is around the corner. It's my senior year and I can't be more hestitant about going back to that hell hole of a place. I won't make this blog negative but I can't help feel sorry about what a horrible summer I had. Of course on facebook there are the amazing cruis ship statuses, pictures from gorgeous far-away beaches, and endless gossip about who went where. I, however, stayed in cville. It's not that I didn't want to go anywhere- I tried. I have a job which keeps me busy and before that I was taking care of my house and my family situations. I purposely don't want to go to the first day of school because I know people will ask "how was your summer?" and I'll simply reply, "terrible." But- whatever. If I can't have my perfect summer wish I want to at least fantisize about it.
I want to be in a gorgeous beach house right on the ocean sands overlooking the ripples of clear blue water. My itunes would be blasting throughout the house and you could hear my Pepper, Matisyahu, Slightly Stoopid, Nirvana, John Mayer, and Rooney smoothely playing out of every open door and window. I would be prancing around in a little sundress swaying to the rhthym of the music. In front of me would be a huge cookbook, containing endless possibilities of food. My fridge would be stocked full of foods to cook with and I would spend the day making whatever I wanted. Smells of warm baked goods would mix with sweet-salty sea air. When everything was done, I would walk down to a table on the beach. Lay out a beautiful silk table covering and eat away my delicious creations. The orange sun would cascade towards me as it set, matching the colors from my candle light. When I was all done, I would take a nice walk along the beach, sipping on a nice glass of wine and smiling from ear to ear. The cool water would splash onto my feet until I reached home. As I entered the house, I would slip into my pjs, put on a nice movie and fall asleep on a luxurious featherbed.
The next morning I would wake up to birds chirping and the crisp summer air filling my lungs. My hot tea would be sitting on the porch with some decadant biscottis. Then... I would start my day all over again
Thats all I could ever want. I dont need a trip to Europe, or dining on a five-star restaurant. All I want is quiet, calm, relaxtion by the beach. The only place that makes me happy...

STOP STONING

PLEASE HELP: http://www.petitiononline.com/Ashtiani/petition.html
Anyone reading this blog PLEASE go to the site above and sign the petition.
It's for a mother of two in Iran wrongly accused of adultery and about to be stoned any day now. This will take no more than 30 seconds of your time and will help save her life. She has suffered 4 years in jail and has received harsh treatments.
- For those not aware of stoning: In Iran, they bury you up to your head and throw stones (not large enough to kill you with the first hit) until you eventually.. slowly die. PLEASE HELP SIGN THIS AND HELP STOP STONING. It is truely sick and barbaric and the Iranian Government is an embarrassment. Nobody deserves this, NOBODY.
For more information and the story you may go to the this aol website-- http://www.aolnews.com/world/article/iranian-family-campaigns-to-save-mother-sakineh-mohammadi-ashtiani-from-stoning/19543401
Please pray for her and all the others who suffer from this.Monday, June 14, 2010
FIRST DAY OF SUMMER VACATION!
Finally, the Monday has come to kick off my first day of relaxation in the sun and spending time with the people I love. Although, this summer I am going to achieve a lot like:

Recently life has been treating me really great. I went out with my amazing gals Kristin, Chelsea, and Katie to the corner. I met so many great people! Positive vibes are the only thing I am surrounding myself with right now and I am so thankful. I have so many true friends and I guess I never realized it until all the bad ones finally left me. I spent yesterday watching the world cup game at Aimees with Austin, Rachel, and Matt sipping mimosas. SO MAD USA DIDN'T LOSE!!! Afterwards a bunch more people came over and we just had a great time enjoying the nice country weather and grilling yummy bbq!!
- Find a job that I love
- Lose 10lbs
- Visit Pri in California

I'm off to a good start...
So far I've had a great photoshoot with
DKLee Photography
and StephenGibson Photography.
(Here's a sneak peak)

I'll sleep when I'm dead

It's really hard going through a long day but sometimes it's even harder sleeping. I need my rest but lately I've been noticing the dark circles under my eyes from the lack of- mainly because I have gained a fear of it. My mom could always tell me what my dreams meant from an early age and I would be able to do the same but with nightmares... its a whole different story.
I get nightmares EVERY night. Not just dreams where a scary clown with an axe chases you (although I've had those too) but dreams where bad things happening to me or my family. I wish more people could relate to how I felt because if anyone has this happen to them then they definately know the stress it brings to your day. Last night I had a dream I got shot in the back... lets just say I spent my friday night hiding in my room watching the celtics (hey celtics-can't complain) haha yay they won!!! I get what is called premonitions dreams, in other words, what I dream comes true the next day.
My mommy told me though that a dream where you die means a wedding (in case anyone out there has these dreams too) so be positive :) I've read all of Sigmund Freud's book "The Interpretation of Dreams" and even I can't figure out what this all means. Life is hard enough, sleeping shouldn't have to be too. Oh well, more Chelsea Lately for me. This pic above is called "Coconut Dreams" I found it appropriate HAHA!!

"Vengeance is a lazy form of grief"

Celtics were such a fail today. Perkins was escorted out, Pierce injured his shoulder and Davis got a concussion. I even went to bdubs wearing my KG jersey!! Anyways, I took mom to the pawn shop and then the mall. LOVE SOME RETAIL THERAPY!! After we watched "The Interpreter"--- bestmovieever.

Rainy Sunday= My first blog :)

I figured with the way technology is nowadays, I might as well create a blog to relinquish my inner thoughts. I'll try to keep this short because I feel like I'm talking to a wall (even though this is rather relaxing). I hope that with this first blog I will be able to write out my dreams and then be able to go back to it and see that they have all become a reality; and maybe even make a difference in someone's life.
Ps: why is watching the Jersey Shore so lame yet addicting??
OXO,
Dutchess Y
